The RV show season has kicked off in Florida with many
residents and visitors getting their first look at the
2004 product line. Although the Florida RV Trade
Association sponsors most of the large RV shows, there
are a number of smaller shows that may be more
convenient for you. We've listed three RV show web
directories below.
We recommend you review your medical needs as
you prepare for the trip to Florida. As Florida residents,
my wife and I appreciate the excellent medical care
available to residents and visitors. As RVers, we realize
the importance of coordinating medical issues across state
lines when on the road. A recent American Medical Association
newsletter provides valuable information for RVers who
head south for the winter.
Because of Florida's popularity with retirees, RVers and
visitors eligible for Medicare will find that almost all
medical professionals and hospitals accept Medicare
assignment. In addition, military retirees can obtain
prescriptions and medical services at a number of military
installations including those at Pensacola, Orlando,
Jacksonville, Satellite Beach, Tampa, and Key West.

ALMANAC PREDICTS PLEASANT FLORIDA WINTER
The Lakeland Ledger reported the folks at the Old Farmer's
Almanac are predicting a colder-than-normal winter in many
parts of the country, but a pleasant winter in Florida. According
to the Almanac, the exception to the mild winter in Florida will
come in January 14 - 18 period. See the Farmer's Almanac Map.

St. Augustine will host many seasonal activities beginning in
late November and December, including "Nights of Lights," Fall Art

approved Wal-Mart Supercenter to be built across the street
from its planned convention center in Kissimmee.

And Portability law will take effect. This means that you will
be able to change your cell phone provider while keeping your
current phone number. Wireless local number portability
(WLNP) allows wireless subscribers to change service providers
within a given location while retaining the same phone number.
Wireless consumers who wish to port their phone number must
contact the prospective new carrier, who will start the process

CONNECTICUT TAX FRAUD BUREAU SEEKS ILLEGAL REGISTRATIONS
The city of Milford, Conn., recently hired the Tax Fraud Bureau
to ferret out Connecticut residents who registered their cars in
other states to avoid paying local taxes. It has already snagged
about 200 vehicles owned by Milford residents that were illegally
registered elsewhere. Connecticut residents with vehicles
registered in Florida should check to see if they are exempt
from paying Connecticut property taxes. Learn more.
